Obituary of Victoria Christine Solarek

Victoria Christine Solarek (Sissy, Vicky)

January 14, 2002 - July 24, 2022

Victoria Christine Solarek, 20, of College Station, TX and her parents, Brian and Michelle Solarek, passed away suddenly on July 24, 2022 when their vehicle was struck from behind, while coming home from a family vacation.

Victoria was born on January 14, 2002, to Brian and Michelle Solarek in Phoenixville, PA. She grew up from the age of 3 in North Padre Island, TX and graduated from Port Aransas High School in 2020.

Influenced by her brothers (and a dislike of clam juice), she was a fierce competitor and played softball, volleyball, basketball, and tennis. She was a true Daddy’s Girl, but also happily indulged her mother and had a short career as a cheerleader, where she shined in all her girly enthusiasm.  She was voted MVP of the Lady Marlins basketball team in her Sophomore year and female Athlete of the Year in her Junior year. After only picking tennis up while in high school she would go on to receive many medals. She was known for her team spirit and encouragement of team members, as well as being a strong vocal leader. Victoria would spend the majority of her days doing what she loved, which was surfing with her friends and playing beach volleyball.

Victoria was also an accomplished student, in the top 10% of her class and a member of National Honor Society.  As described by her coach, her awards and accomplishments didn’t define her. Victoria was known for her effervescent, selfless personality and making everyone she knew feel loved. Her bubbly personality illuminated a room and she would make anyone she met feel welcomed. She was well known for her unique and creative style. Victoria loved God and family above all else.

Victoria was a proud student of Texas A&M University, where she was studying Zoology in pursuit of her lifelong dream of becoming a Veterinarian She assisted in her first necropsy of a beached whale at the age of 7. She also assisted with the birthing of a dog's litter and raising of the puppies. She was a straight A student and serving as an intern at Butler Animal Clinic where she was administering medicine, taking vitals, assisting with surgeries, and performing Vet Tech duties. Victoria cherished all of the close knit relationships she made during her time at both Port A and Texas A&M. She was living her best life and is now living a better one.

She was preceded in death by her grandpoppy, Robert Whalon, and her sister, Hope Solarek. Victoria passed away with her father, Brian Solarek, and her mother, Michelle (Whalon) Solarek. She is survived by her brothers, Benjamin Solarek and Joshua Solarek; grandma, Joanne (Gajda) Solarek; nonny, Bernadette (DeVito) Whalon;  aunts,  Valerie Whalon and Christine Murren (Adrian); uncles, Carl Solarek, Jr. (Carol), Christopher Whalon (Donna), and Timothy Whalon (Megan); cousins, Jadan, Austin, Cory, Kyle, Adrianna, and Kolton; and a multitude of loving extended family,  friends, and long-term boyfriend, Logan Kreutziger.
