Obituary of Shirley Shipman Odom

Shirley Shipman Odom, 86 of Ladson, SC went to her heavenly home on Sept. 11, 2022. Her memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Sept 21st at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 10360 Hwy. 78 in Summerville, SC. The family will receive friends from noon to 1PM prior to start of service.

Shirley was born in Paris Island, SC on Sept 21, 1935 to Martin Lee Shipman and Laura Pierce Shipman. She was a homemaker but always loved helping others and visiting shut-ins. She was a member of Pittman Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings and her husband James C. Odom. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Plowden of Charleston and Tammy Eidem of Ladson, four grandchildren, Laura Plowden of Charleston, Jeff Eidem of Columbia, Lee Eidem of Moncks Corner and Sara Vela of North Charleston along with three great grandchildren.
