Obituary of Ernest W. Mitchum

Ernest Willard Mitchum, 69, of Manning, South Carolina passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 02, 2016 at Trident Medical Center. Born in Charleston, South Carolina to Roland and Addie Mitchum he lived most of his life in Charleston before moving to Manning, South Carolina in August of 1986. Ernest was a passionate man who enjoyed wielding & playing music. He had the pleasure of performing with the likes of Tanya Tucker and Marty Haggard. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and entertaining his children with songs he made up off the top of his head. Ernest was extremely loving and proud of his five daughters, Elaine Gresh, Louise Peal, Deann Craven, Tricia Dubose and Heather Yount. He is also survived by his sister Shirley Edwards, of Charleston, South Carolina; his wife and best friend of 50 years, Susie Ansaldo Mitchum; as well as his 11 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and other friends. The family will receive friends for his service on Saturday, March 05, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Simplicity Lowcountry Cremation & Burial Services 7475 Peppermill Pkwy Suite E., North Charleston, SC 29418
