Obituary of Jimmie D. Cornish

Jimmie “Jim” Donald Cornish of North Charleston, South Carolina entered into eternal rest on October 25, 2016. Jimmie “Jim” Donald Cornish, age 73, of North Charleston, SC, passed away on October 25, 2016. A celebration of Jimmie’s life will be held at 2:30 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Northside Baptist Church, 7800 Northside Drive, North Charleston SC, with burial to immediately follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville SC. The family will receive friends at Northside Baptist Church from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on Saturday, October 29. Jimmie was born in Monette, AR on March 17, 1943, a son of Arthur and Eva Cornish. Jimmie dearly loved his country and served 21 years as a member of the United States Air Force and 18 years as a civil servant of the Department of Defense. He loved jokes, the St. Louis Cardinals, John Deere tractors, Mountain Dew, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups. His greatest joy came from solving problems for his customers and for those he loved. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ and wanted Him to be glorified by his life and death. His favorite verse was Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to his purpose.” Jimmie dearly loved his family. He is survived by his wife Jeannie, daughter and son-in-law Tiffany and Ron Dujinski, son and daughter-in-law Joseph and Patience Cornish, and grandsons Ronnie, Marcus, Nathan, and Charles. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Northside Baptist Church in North Charleston or Piedmont Hospice (Lowcountry office) in Jimmie’s memory.
