Obituary of Richard Hamilton

Richard Allen Hamilton, 72, loving husband of Sandra June Hamilton, passed suddenly Saturday, February 10, 2018, at Trident Medical Center. Mr. Hamilton was loved by so many and lived his life to serve others, especially his precious wife, children and grandchildren. He was a good Christian man, which showed through his infectious smile and generous heart. He was an avid golfer, bowler and was known for his sense of humor. Mr. Hamilton was born on February 18, 1945 in Beloit, WI. to the late Howard and Yvonne Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton is survived by three daughters, Gina Parks (Bobby), Julie Herring (Bill) and Tracy Davidson (Jason). He had six grandchildren that were his pride and joy, Tyler Herring (USAF), Toby Herring (USAF), Richard E. Parks (USMC), Lexi Parks, Nickolas Davidson (USN), and Ashlyn Davidson. He is survived by a sister, Kay Fields (Joel). He is preceded in death by his father Howard Hamilton, mother Yvonne Hamilton, and sister Karen Johnson. He was retired from the US Navy after 23 years of service. During this time he served our country in the Vietnam War. He then retired from The Citadel. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Summerville on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 4:00pm. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall following the service.
