Obituary of Laurence Ady Webster

Laurence Ady Webster III, of Charleston, SC, beloved husband of Cheryl Webster, died Monday, January 25, 2016. His Funeral Service will be held on his birthday, Friday, February 12, 2016, at 4:00pm in the Old St. Andrews Parish Church, Charleston SC. Following the service, family and friends are welcome to join in a Celebration of Laurence’s life at the home of Jordan and Sara Bowers. Laurence was born February 12, 1945, son of Mary Virginia Finley Webster and the late Major Laurence A. Webster, Jr. The Webster home base was in Ruxton Maryland. With strength, humor, and love Laurence fought a long illness of heart disease. He went peacefully, with his wife, children, and grandchildren around him, as he wanted. He has left us with many wonderful memories, and aching hearts. Laurence is survived by daughter Beth Cavett and husband Chris, son Laurence “Ady” Webster, IV, wife Allaire, and their children Laurence Ady Webster, V “Ady5”, Amory, and Amelia, and daughter Sara Bowers, husband Jordan, and their children Finley and Leighton. He was also survived by his brother Richard Webster, and three sisters, Mary Webster, Louise Wager and husband Greg, and Edith Freed and husband Todd. He was also blessed to have in his life many very special nieces, nephews, family and friends. Laurence attended Maryland Institute College of Art. He owned a woodworking business for most of his life. It was his passion; his art. He also lived life as art. He enjoyed the beach, reading, fine arts, classic rock, sports cars and motorcycles. He was a genuine and honest man with a zany sense of humor, yet was always gracious and thoughtful. He was “Gaga” to his five grandchildren who were the light of his life. As a husband, and father, he was dedicated, loving, and a best friend. We will carry him in our hearts forever. Donations can be sent to the Lowcountry Orphan Relief, PO Box 70185, N.
