We are saddened to announce the passing of Charles Anderson Rodgers, Jr., age 92, of Bluffton, South Carolina, who passed at home surrounded by his children.
Mr. Rodgers resided in New Jersey for most of his life, having retired to the Lowcountry along with Anita (deceased), his wife of 63 years.
An accomplished man, he attended Fordham University and received a Bachelor of Science degree from Seton Hall. He served as an Air Force pharmacist in the Korean War. Upon completing his tour abroad, Mr. Rodgers returned to New Jersey and began his career as a chemist for Revlon, Inc. He retired in 1998 as Vice President of Quality Control Worldwide.
Mr. Rodgers was an outstanding athlete, excelling in a variety of sports. He was a Clemson Master Gardener, terrific cook, and avid golfer and reader.
He is survived by his three children, daughter Judith and her husband Bill, daughter Jacqueline, and son Charles, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, Hilton Head Island on March 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation be sent to Hospice Care of the Lowcountry.
