Thomas Lee Atherton, Jr

May 15,1957-March 17, 2023

'Lee' was born into a military family stationed in Charleston, SC and served in the Army as a medic. He adventured to Alaska, Germany and Texas but came back to live in Charleston after the death of his wife, Lisa Rumbles. Lee's children were lovingly adopted into his wives families. 

Lee was a voracious reader with a quick wit and tongue. he would have been a great Trivial Pursuits participant. He was a master carpenter and cribbage player. He loved everyone, even if he didn't act like it. He was intelligent, funny, and a charmer.

Lee's mother Gayla Atherton, preceeded him in death. Lee is survived by his father , Ret. Col. Thomas L. Atherton, his sisters Lynda 'Elana' Bluestone and Leeann Atherton, and his birth children Jeremiah Hunkins and Jacob Rumbles. He has many loving nieces, nephews and friends that are like family, Rick Sharp

Lee Atheron's Celebration of Life will take place at Domino Lounge, 6877 Dorchester Road on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 3-5pm.
