Teresa Cox

Obituary of Teresa Cox

Wrapped in the loving arms of her husband, surrounded by copious amounts of family love, Teresa Hart Cox left this world for a new adventure on Monday, March 27th. She was a beautiful, young 61 years old. Everyone is given life but not everyone lives. Teresa relished her life, filling it to the brim with long rides down back roads, music up, windows down. She delighted in tranquil mountain filled views and wetting her fishing line at Lake Hartwell. Teresa was the unofficial cruise director for her family and friends. Warm, salty breezes and the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean was her favorite cruising destination. She was always eager to share the treasured experiences she loved, watching others in their happiness brought her so much joy. Teresa was known to cut a rug often, shagging and dancing around the house, her contagious spirit was uplifting to everyone.

Teresa battled a short, fierce ALS war with grace, dignity, and courage. She wielded laughter, happiness, and love as her weapons. This disease took so much from her, but she did not allow it to take her  humor and fun-loving attitude. Her radiant smile, infectious laugh, and amazing soul is loved real loud and will be profoundly missed.

Teresa leaves behind her adoring husband of 23 years, Curtis Cox, Jr., her sons, Michael Cox, Chris Cox, and Brent Gorman (Rachael), Granddaughter; Megan Cox, Grandsons; Caleb Cox, and Haesten Gorman (under construction), Brothers; Robert Hart, Jr. (Tammy), Thomas Hart (Kate), doting sisters, Linda Hart and Katherine Griffith (Wade) and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a whole lot of cousins. She has been reunited with her amazing parents, and many family members and friends who welcomed her in love and light.

A memorial service will be held 12 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at Simplicity Lowcountry, Ladson.  The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
