Obituary of Nancy Wesson Dale

Nancy Wesson Dale (05/27/1933-11/12/2023) of 9 Sand Dollar Ct, St Helena Island, SC and daughter of the late David and Vashti Wesson, died on November 12, 2023 after a prolonged illness. She is survived by her husband of 69 years Daniel W. Dale, Sr, her children Daniel W Dale, Jr of Coral Springs, FL (spouse, Ame Dale), Jeffery W Dale of St Helena Island, SC, Dr Joel F. Dale of Pageland, SC (Spouse, Mary Dale) and Laurie Dale Cox of Moore, SC (Spouse, Joel Cox), 7 grandchildren Hannah Cox, David Dale, Jacob Dale, Noah Cox, Kirsten Dale, Gracie Cox and Gina Cox, and 2 great grandchildren Wesson and Wyatt Dale.

Nancy received her B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Asheville (’77) and her Masters in Counseling from Western Carolina University (’79). Upon graduation, she worked as a counselor in the Buncombe County, NC school system as a guidance counselor for Enka High School and A.C. Reynolds High School. She continued her work as a guidance counselor for the next 8 years in the school systems of Seneca, SC, Georgetown, KY and Gastonia, NC until her retirement. At that time she and her husband Daniel retired to Harbor Island, SC where she enjoyed many days by the ocean and time with her grandchildren. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Asheville, NC for almost 30 years and also an active member of The Baptist Church of Beaufort for the past 20 years.

A memorial service for Nancy will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the main Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Pageland, SC, 203 W. Pigg St, Pageland, SC. In lieu of flowers it is suggested that a donation be made in remembrance to Alzheimer's and Dementia Research
