Obituary of Kathy Leach Weekes

Kathy Leach Weekes, 66, daughter of the late Col. Ercie J. Leach and Dorrine Pochelu Leach, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at Oakbrook Rehabilitation Center in Summerville, SC.

Kathy was born March 5, 1957, at Fort Rucker, Alabama. Growing up as an ‘Army brat,’ she lived all over the United States, including the entire Pacific Rim of Hawaii, California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska.  She graduated from Langley High School in McLean, Virginia. Kathy held many jobs over the years, but her favorite was working as a manager at Blockbuster due to her love of movies. She also loved books and animals. 

Kathy is survived by her three sisters: Danielle Gunter (Marty) of Summerville, SC; Suzanne Ferrari (Randy) of Dallas, TX; and Michelle Schoenhardt (Tim) of Orangevale, CA; and many nieces and nephews. 

There will be a small service for immediate family members only. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Wounded Warriors or a local animal shelter. 

We would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of the Oakbrook Rehabilitation Center for the kindness and loving care shown to our sister in her final weeks.
