Obituary of Albin J. Gontkovic

Albin J. Gontkovic, 87, passed away peacefully at his new home in Bluffton, SC on Saturday evening, November 25th.  He lived most of his life in Clearfield, PA with his wife Colleen (Ogden), daughter Spring (Davis) and son Michael John.  He was proceeded in death by his parents and his son Michael John.  He is survived by his wife, daughter, sister in law Joyce Ogden (Ronald),8 neices and nephews,a cousin Albina Senko (Joe) of Pittsburgh, PA, 3 grandchildren, Stephen Dudak (Tonya) of Cranberry Twp., PA, Adam Dudak (Nicole) of Fort Mill, SC and Jennifer McGehee (Matt) of Woodstock, GA and 12 great grandchildren.

Al was a Drill Sargent at Parris Island, SC and served with the 3rd Marine at Camp Fuji, Japan.  He was a PA State Police Trooper most of his career.  He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Clearfield, PA.  He belonged to the East Coast Drill Instructors Association, American Association of State Troopers, and Fraternal Order of State Police.  He was also a member of The American Legion, Elks, FOE, Lions Club, National Slovak Society, The VFW and an active donor to the American Red Cross, belonging to the 10 Gallon Club.

Services will be private and his final resting place will be Beaufort National Cemetery, Beaufort, SC.
