Obituary of John Wayne Bottum, Sr.

In memory of John Wayne Bottum Sr. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John Wayne Bottum Sr. on December 15th, 2023. In the midst of this sorrow, we remember the complexities of his life and the challenges he faced. John is survived by his son, John Wayne (Sierra-Rae) Bottum Jr., and his three children, Hannah, Odin, and Arden. Additionally, he leaves behind a daughter, Crystal (Josh) Sampson, along with her children Grace, Holly, Emily, Harlan, and Summer.

Despite the estrangement that marked his relationship with his children, the impact of his absence is deeply felt. John is also remembered fondly by his brothers Jim Bottum and Mike Slattery, and as a loving son to Esther Fisher Shirley. Their close family ties and shared memories provide comfort in this difficult time. John was preceded in death by his brother Daniel Slattery.
