David Watts

Obituary of David Douglas Watts

It is with great sadness that we announce David Douglas Watts passed away on Friday (01/19/2024). David passed at home surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

One of six children born to Major General David E. Watts (U.S. Army) and Nancy Hunter Watts, David began his long and distinguished military career when he enlisted in the United States Army in 1983. Over the years he was stationed at several bases including Lee Barracks in Mainz, Germany. Here he met Michaela, his wife and mother of their three children, Jaime Johnathan Watts, David Anthony Watts, and Susan Nicole Watts. David retired from active duty in 2008 and continued his career in civil service until he finally retired in 2020. During this time David welcomed the births of his 4 grandchildren, Oliver, Brooke, Ruth, and Roseline, and was excitedly awaiting the birth of his fifth, Jude. Above all David loved his country, friends, family, and of course any stray animals in need of rescue. We thank everyone for the years of love and friendship people had with him.

In lieu of a formal service we invite everyone to share any stories or photos that you have on his Facebook.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Wounded Warriors Foundation or any other military charities in his honor.
