Obituary of Kathleen A. Johnson

Kathleen A. Johnson, née Ross, aged 75, of Summerville, SC, passed away on February 15, 2024 with her loving family by her side. Born on November 9, 1948, in Chicago, IL, she was the beloved wife of Donald Ray Johnson and cherished mother of Nicole Michelle Anderson (née Johnson).

Kathy met her husband Don in the spring of 1974 while he was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Station. After a whirlwind romance, they married on June 15, 1974. As a Navy wife, she lived in various states, making friends wherever she went. She cherished her role as a wife and mother.

Kathy was known for her thoughtfulness, never forgetting a birthday or anniversary, always sending out personalized cards. She enjoyed swimming, listening to country music, and playing cards and bingo. She was adored by her family, friends, and many of her daughter's friends. She created a warm and welcoming home for many, often providing a nurturing presence and a listening ear.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Don; daughter, Nicole; son-in-law, Lee; and a host of nieces and nephews. She enters eternal rest joining her parents, James and Erma Heinz Ross, as well as her sisters Elizabeth, Joanne, Jean, Nancy, Mary, and her niece Nannette, who preceded her in death.

Kathy was a beautiful and loving soul who will be missed by all those who were blessed by her love and friendship. In keeping with her spirit, a Celebration of Life will be held in the spring, where friends and family can gather to share memories of a life so beautifully lived.
