Obituary of Bruce W Gannon, Sr

Bruce W. Gannon, Sr. of Saint George, SC passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024, with his devoted wife, Misty; mother-in-law, Bambi Lavoie and devoted dog, Kadie Lynn (Hobo/Wigglebutt) at his side after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Bruce was born on January 18th, 1951, in Worcester, MA and moved with his wife to SC in 2010.  He was predeceased by his father, Robert D. Gannon; grandmother, Grace H. (Arno) Clough, his dogs, Midnight and Willow Mae and his cats, Smokey and Patches. 

Bruce is survived and missed by his loving wife of 19 years however, they were together a total of 27 years, Misty (Lavoie) Gannon, son, Bruce and his wife, Linda Gannon Jr. father-in-law, Michael J. (Bambi) Lavoie, sister-in-law Windy L. (Lavoie) Ross, and her husband, Joe Ross. Many other close friends, family and neighbors.

Bruce is a Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he demonstrated true valor and honor and was awarded the Soldiers Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Marksman Badge with Auto Rifle Bar.

He loved hanging out with family and friends, his dry sense of humor and quick responses left you laughing all the time. "You think you know but you don't" was his favorite saying and some of his favorite things were crafting cribbage/checker tables, going to the beach so he could listen to the ocean waves, casinos and camping.

He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
