Obituary of Tory R Hampton

Tory R. Hampton, 62, of Summerville, SC, passed away April 23, 2024, at his home in Summerville, SC., surrounded by his family.   

Born April 24, 1961, to Donald. R. Hampton and Catherine I. Morris Stokes in Coshocton, Ohio. 

Tory Graduated for Coshocton High School, Ohio University Zanesville, and his master’s degree with The University of Phoenix. Tory worked in industrial manufacturing as a quality manager for more than 40 years. Tory loved his role in manufacturing and took great pride in his work.  He made many friends throughout his career.  He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns and Guardians. Once moving to South Carolina, Tory found a passion for gardening, canning, and landscaping. Tory was active with both The Ponds YMCA Summerville and the N. Charleston Police Youth Basketball League, coaching.  Tory enjoyed his many trips to Myrtle Beach with his family over the past 30 years. He loved the ocean, he loved life, and he will be missed. 

 He is survived by his partner of 30 years, Tonja Winland, Step daughter Brittany Warehime, step grandson Mason Whatley, Stepmother Diana Hampton of Coshocton, step sisters Julie and Melissa, step brother Eric, Nephew Donald Hampton jr, Aunt Cheryl Hampton, and his dear friend, Carolyn Winland. 

Tory is proceeded in death by his parents Catherine I. Morris Stokes, Donald R. Hampton, brother M. Todd Hampton, and grandmother, Laura Hampton.  

There will be no services at this time, one will be held at a later date.
