Obituary of Richard Oliver Thacker

Richard O. Thacker went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 22, 2015. Rick was born on September 7, 1942 in Des Moines, Iowa to Harry and Ione Thacker. He retired after 25 years of service in the U.S. Navy and also worked at Boeing. Rick was an active, faithful, member of Goose Creek U.M.C. where he was a Lay Servant, sang in the choir, was Communications Chair, and a member of the Creek Brothers. He is survived by his wife, MaryJane Thacker of the home, three daughters, Sandra Roma (Dominic) of Bay Minette, Alabama, Sherry Corder of Goose Creek, and Sonya Osborn (William) of Clovis, New Mexico. In addition, Rick is survived by his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and a brother, Dan Thacker (Raquel) of El Paso, Texas. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Don Thacker. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Goose Creek U.M.C., 142 Redbank Rd, Goose Creek, at 6:30 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Goose Creek U.M.C.
