Obituary of Jack Thomas Thacker

Jack Thomas Thacker – May 9, 1955 – February 1, 2018 It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Thomas Thacker announces his passing on Thursday, February 1, 2018. Tommy was born on May 9, 1955 to his late parents, Jack and Berniece Thacker. Tommy had a successful career where he worked for CSX railroad for over 30 years, retiring at age 55. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Jeannie Hampton. Tommy is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Karon Gail Ewers Thacker; one daughter, Shawndra Thacker Marrs (Brian); and one son, Scott Jackson Thacker (Jessica). Tommy is also survived by two sisters, Janet Thomas Mullins (Mitch) and Melinda Anne Brazell (Dearil); two brothers, Howard Thacker (Gloria) and Dewayne Thacker (Willa); five grandchildren, Blake Marrs, Brett Marrs, Ana-Grace Thacker, Abby Thacker, and Charlie Thacker; and a host of loving family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Miles Road Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Palmer officiating.
