Obituary of James E Manning

James E Manning Jr., Jim, 73 of Summerville passed away, September 27, 2015. He is survived by his wife Jan Kearns Manning. He is also survived by four sons James E Manning III of Johns Island, SC, Christopher B Manning of Johns Island, James E Manning of Summerville and David M Manning of Summerville. He is also survived by three granddaughters, Amanda Manning, Jennifer Manning, and Chloe Bodendorf. He had one grandson CJ Manning. He also had three great grandsons. In addition to his children. He was also survived by one brother Michael Manning of Campton, KY, two sisters Kay Tucker of Johns Island, SC, Sharon Cornett of Pike, KY. Jim was born in Campton, KY to Ezra and Sadie Manning, who preceded him in death on August 3, 1942. He worked at Charleston Naval Ship Yard for 30yrs and he also drove a school bus for Summerville D2 for 10yrs. The viewing will be from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday September 30, 2015 at Simplicity Funeral Home on Peppermill Rd off of Ashley Phosphate Rd in North Charleston. The Funeral will be held at Knightsville United Methodist Church on Central Ave in Summerville SC, on Thursday, October 1, 2015 starting at 11am.
