Obituary of Harry E. Back

Harry Edmund Back, III, 75, of Summerville, SC passed away peacefully with family at his side on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. Harry was born November 12, 1942 in Lockport, NY to Harry and Dilys (Jones) Back. He went to Clemson University and was in sales in the automotive industry most of his life. He enjoyed to work, believed everyone should have a little fun every day, and he only retired a few years prior to his passing. Harry married Bonnie Jean Harley in 1966 and they enjoyed 51 years of marriage together. Harry loved riding horses and spent many years showing horses mostly in SC, GA and NC. Later in life, he and Bonnie road trail horses several times a week and those were some of his happiest times. Harry loved to live life to the fullest. He enjoyed racing cars, riding championship horses, eating good food, listening to the “oldies,” and riding in the golf cart with his little dog “Spanky.” Harry was very proud of his children. He is survived by his son, Harry Anthony (Tony) Back and his wife Samantha of Port Charlotte, FL, and his daughter, Sudie Back and her husband Stephen Caskie of Mount Pleasant, SC, and three grandchildren (Carson, Lauren and Liam). Harry served in the National Guard for six years. Memorial donations may be made in Harry’s name to Pets for Vets, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, training, and pairing animals with veterans who could benefit from a companion pet: https://www.petsforvets.com/donate/online. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Willington Lakes Apartments, 401 Willing Lakes Court (Clubhouse), Orangeburg, SC 29118.
