Obituary of Esther Marie Anania Bassett

Esther Marie Anania Bassett entered into eternal rest on September 6,2015. Esther Bassett, 71, widow of Clyde Bassett. Resident of North Charleston, SC. The family and friends of Mrs. Bassett are invited to attend her memorial at Cherokee Place United Methodist Church at 2015 Cosgrove Ave., North Charleston, SC 29405, on September 10, 2015 at 11:00 am. Esther was born in Johnstown, Pa. on May 27, 1944 to the late Anthony Salvatore Anania and Madeline Labue Anania Smoak. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, sister, cousin and friend. She was a devout Catholic and a member of the Franciscan order. She attended Charleston County Elementary Schools and Murray Vocational High School. She was a retired professional Jazz, Blues and Big Band Singer. She is survived by her son, Anthony Bassett(Amanda) of Henderson, Nv., her sister Sandra Anania Rourk(Buddy), nieces Teresa Fuller, Madison Hinkle, Ann Marie Rourk, Lily Renee’ Rourk, Rebecca Wildner, Corinna Wildner, nephews Richard Fuller, Johnathan Fuller, Christiopher Smoak, Steven Hallett, Elmore Rourk, Aaron Keenan Rourk, Michael Rourk(Debbie), Jody Rourk(Donna), Lucas Wildner and sister-in-law Mary Esther Bassett(Gu’nter). Loving cousins of the Jiminez family and Murray family. She is predeceased by her husband Clyde Bassett, sister, Valerie Smoak Hallett, and niece Susan Hinkle.
