Jim, you were not just a step-father to me, but my dad. You gave me 33 years of dedication, laughter, patience, and guidance. Your love for my mom and hers for you, had me always chasing after my own soul mate, for that is what you taught me was true, unconditional love. You were the perfect model, and always there, even when I wasn’t. I will always cherish the many memories of childhood, especially the warm days in the Keys, and the more recent memories of these past few years. I am so thankful I was able to spend time with you this past year or two, for it was priceless. I smile everyday when I think of how you would engage Sawyer every time he saw you, your little dance for him and your endless smiles. I will miss you everyday and we will see each other again in the Keys. I love you.

ANYONE WHO WAS BLESSED TO KNOW AND HAVE JIM IN THEIR LIVES, KNEW WHAT A SPECIAL PERSON HE WAS – A VERY KIND,WARM ,FUN-LOVING PERSON -ALWAYS WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE AND A TWINKLE IN HIS EYES . JIM AND BARB ALWAYS WELCOMED EVERYONE WITH OPEN ARMS TO COMEVISIT WITH THEM-ALWAYS SUCH AN ENJOYABLE VISIT WITH THE BESTEST HOSPITALITY , FOOD , AND RELAXING TIME . ALL WILL FEEL A GREAT VOID IN OUR LIVES NOW THAT JIM IS NO LONGER WITH US , BUT NOW KNOW HE IS NO LONGER SUFFERING IN PAIN AND IS NOW RESTING IN PEACE .
LOVE AND PRAYERS

I wish I could have spent more time with Uncle Jim. I’m Glad I was able to go down and see him in late 2012. The only other memory I have is going down when I was still a teenager and watching a golf tournament with him. I think that is why I have a great appreciation for the game, as difficult as it can be. Because of that, in my mind while I am playing, I will be dedicating it to you. Any winnings by me will be donated to the Alzheimer’s research fund in your memory.
You are, and will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.

I have always looked forward to my yearly trek to SC, to see Jim and Barb. They always welcomed us Huffs into their home and we always had such a fun time. Jim would have me laughing with his orneriness. He would have that twinkle in his eyes and I knew he was up to something. It was fun to watch Jim and Barb teasing each other. The love they shared for each other made me smile. I am thankful for these visits and time spent with them. Jim, you were a great man with such a kind soul. I will miss you and pray for those that will miss your presence even more.
God bless you!

Jim was not just my brother-inlaw, but also my friend. I was always welcomed in Jim and Barbara’s home for long escapes from the long Ohio winters. We spent many hours laughing together and enjoying delicious home cooked meals. It was during these wonderful times that I fell in love with SC and the reason I am here today. I was blessed to have spent time with Jim over the course of his illness. Through those tough times, he still could surprise me with his ornery insights and made me laugh, sometimes despite the sorrow of watching this kind and gentle man falter. I will miss you Jim. I continue to pray for those who will feel that empty space in their hearts. May you soar with eagles and have eternal peace! Love, Mary!
